Privacy Policy
Effective date: 27 May 2026
1. About this Policy
Packera Pty Ltd ("Packera", "we", "us", or "our") operates a managed B2B procurement and tendering platform for corrugated packaging. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information in connection with our platform and services.
We are committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
This policy applies to buyers, suppliers, platform operators, and anyone else who interacts with our website or platform. It does not apply to information we handle on behalf of our clients where we act as a data processor — in those cases, the relevant client's privacy policy applies.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account and identity information — including name, email address, phone number, job title, and company name when you register for or are invited to our platform.
Business information — Australian Business Number (ABN), company address, business structure, trading history, and capability information that you or your company provides when completing your profile.
Packaging and procurement data — product specifications, SKU data, packaging requirements, historical spend records, and tendering information submitted through our platform.
Pricing and bid data — unit pricing, quantity breakpoints, delivery terms, and other commercial information submitted by suppliers in response to tender invitations.
Usage and technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, session duration, and other analytics data collected automatically when you use our platform.
Communications — messages, emails, and correspondence exchanged through or in connection with our platform.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
Platform operation — to provide, maintain, and improve our managed procurement services, including validating specifications, aggregating demand, running tender workflows, and matching buyers with suppliers.
Account management — to create and manage user accounts, authenticate access, and manage team memberships within buyer and supplier organisations.
Communications — to send platform notifications, quote invitations, deadline reminders, response notifications, and service updates relevant to your use of the platform.
Analytics and benchmarking — to generate aggregated, anonymised insights such as spend benchmarks and market pricing comparisons that help buyers understand their packaging category performance.
Legal and compliance — to comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain audit trails of procurement activities.
4. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Between platform users — as part of the procurement workflow, buyers' packaging specifications and requirements are shared with invited suppliers. Suppliers' pricing responses and capability profiles are shared with the relevant buyer. This sharing is inherent to the service and is disclosed to all parties at the point of engagement.
Platform operators — our internal operations team accesses user data and procurement data to validate specifications, manage tender workflows, and ensure service quality. All operators are subject to confidentiality obligations.
Service providers — we engage trusted third-party providers for infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to use data only for the purposes we specify.
Legal requirements — we may disclose information where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure within Australia. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews.
Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorised personnel and systems. Pricing and bid data is treated as commercially sensitive and subject to additional access controls.
While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to contact us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information and procurement data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with our legal obligations. In general:
Account data is retained for the duration of your relationship with Packera and for a period of 7 years following termination, in accordance with our contractual and legal obligations.
Procurement records, tender outcomes, and pricing data are retained for audit and benchmarking purposes. Anonymised aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (subject to our legal retention obligations) by contacting us at enquiries@packera.ai.
7. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Complaint — lodge a complaint with us, and if unresolved, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at enquiries@packera.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies and Tracking
Our platform uses session cookies and similar technologies to maintain your logged-in state, remember preferences, and collect analytics data. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function. Analytics cookies help us understand how the platform is used and improve the experience.
